The Minimalist Approach To Tradeshow Booth designs

Back in the day, trade show companies prioritized displaying the products as much as possible. That included product samples, illustrations, graphics,  literature, etc. But the trend is now shifting towards a minimalist approach where designers lean more towards a clean, fresh, and functional trade show booth design instead of the old norm.

Here’s everything you need to know about this brand new design trend.

Why is Such an Approach Necessary?

With a million things happening all around the trade show, attendees prefer going to a booth that doesn’t strain their eyes. Too many graphics and too much information can confuse your attendees and make them feel overwhelmed as soon as they approach your booth. This, in turn, reduces your chances of generating lead and diminish your overall trade show performance. Also, extra arrangements cost an extra few bucks which drives up your overall investment.

What Can You Do?

Creating a minimalist trade show booth isn’t as difficult as it seems. Keep the following things in mind and you will be good to go!

  • Manage your Graphics and Signage

Now we have already discussed, too much graphics in a cluster doesn’t help you even a bit. Instead, try to use your trade show graphics and signage smartly. This is why you must choose a trade show banner design that isn’t riddled with text or has too many photos. Try to suspend some of your banners which can attract the attendees from a distance without cluttering your booth. Put only the necessary graphics.

  • Choose the Right Booth Size

Create a rough estimate of your budget to know how much you are willing to spend on the booth size as they come in varying sizes. Getting a trade show booth that is too large will make your exhibit seem empty which you will have to fill up somehow.

A 10×10 booth (smallest size)is much cheaper than a 20×20 trade show booth (largest size). If you want to meet in the middle, then a 10×20 trade show is the right one. You can also get a customized booth, but its cost will vary according to the size.

  • Use Lights to your Advantage

While it’s important to properly illuminate your booth, the contrast must be managed throughout the booth. Unequal contrast and focus in the booth prevent the attendees from focusing on the important products. Instead, use higher contrast on your trade show display product samples or illustrations.

  • Give Attendees Space

Try to use the minimum number of furniture which will allow the free flow of visitors around your trade show booth. Also, ask your staff to maintain maximum restraint so that the attendees don’t feel hassled on every step they take. Make sure there’s enough space that they don’t disrupt others’ movement.

A minimal design does not mean you are losing out on something. Rather, you are giving them exactly what you want. So, don’t hesitate to jump on board with the latest design trends.
