Exhibiting at DEF CON 2027
DEF CON is the world’s largest and most influential hacker conference, held each August in Las Vegas immediately after Black Hat. DEF CON 33 (2025) ran at the Las Vegas Convention Center; the 2027 edition is in August (2026 was August 6–9; exact 2027 dates are not yet published). A practical note for exhibitors: DEF CON is community-driven, not a conventional trade show. Its commercial footprint — the Vendor area and the many “villages” — is smaller and more grassroots than a Business Hall, so a DEF CON presence is scoped differently from a corporate booth.
The audience is hands-on security researchers and practitioners with a low tolerance for marketing. A presence that works at DEF CON is credible, technical and community-minded — a clean vendor stand, a tool or village sponsorship, and people who can talk shop. Because it’s a Las Vegas show and our warehouse is in Las Vegas, anything we build is delivered across town rather than shipped.
What a DEF CON presence looks like
Most DEF CON commercial space is modest — vendor tables and small stands rather than large islands. A 10x10 is the typical unit: a clean stand for a tool, a recruiting presence or merch, with a demo point and storage. Companies that sponsor a village build a themed stand or contribution within it. Larger 20x20 footprints exist but are the exception, and an oversized corporate booth can read as out of place with this crowd.
The design priorities are credibility and durability over polish: a stand that looks engineered, not advertised, and that holds up to a dense, hands-on crowd. Many exhibitors run DEF CON as the back half of a Black Hat week, reusing or adapting the same structure.
The in-city Las Vegas advantage
Las Vegas is our home market and our lowest-cost host city, and an in-city DEF CON build skips long-haul freight entirely. The biggest practical win is the Black Hat–DEF CON pairing: because both run the same week in Las Vegas, we can build one structure and stage or adapt it across both shows, which is far easier to coordinate from our in-city warehouse than freighting between events.
We handle all required venue labor, rigging and paperwork, and the in-city model lets us turn a DEF CON presence around on a tight timeline.
Pricing for a DEF CON presence
Because DEF CON is in Las Vegas and most footprints are small, pricing sits at our lowest tier: from about $6,700 for a 10x10 to roughly $59,500 for a premium 30x30 island (uncommon at this show), all-inclusive.
